Envisioning a new Belvedere Park Together

Project Overview

Elkplan teamed up with Heartstage Consulting to create an engagement program aimed at gathering input for a new park in the Belvedere neighborhood of Edmonton, Alberta fro NiGiNan Housing Ventures and the Right At Home Housing Society.

Purpose

Our goal was to collect feedback from local residents about the new park, with a special emphasis on ideas from Indigenous residents at omamoo wango gamik, and share out the findings. This Indigenous-led housing initiative, located next to the park site, is a collaboration between NiGiNan Housing Ventures and the Right At Home Housing Society.

Outcomes

Elkplan developed a comprehensive set of creative digital and printed graphic resources to enhance the engagement program. This included meeting invitations, an online survey featuring graphical elements, large informational posters, worksheets, and a 10-page report filled with custom infographics and park design illustrations that summarized the engagement findings.

Impact

The insights gathered during the engagement process were instrumental in directing the concept sketches that we made, which were then shared with Right at Home and the City of Edmonton to guide the next steps in the park design.
